Tears of Joy Photography

After several rain postponements from our initial appointment in March, I was finally able to steal a sunny day on Easter morning to capture these family friends.  Mom is British (and one of the loveliest people I know), Dad is American and their son is 100% cuteness.  The red, white and blue color combo that they wore was patriotic for all!  It is not hard to see how excited they were to be out in the sunshine and warm temps.  Their son was all about finding “muddy dirt” but with a snack of goldfish we were able to direct him back to the grass for some winning shots, just a few of which I have posted here.  Proof positive that “Good things come to those who wait”!

“Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun. Please shine down on me!”  So far this spring sunny mornings have been few and far between, but we finally got one this past Wednesday.  Johnson Davis Park again provided a beautiful backdrop to capture these two adorable sisters in their Springtime best. The wind was a challenge at times, but also gave us a natural windswept look in some of these shots. Hope these pictures remind us of warmer and sunnier days to come!

In celebration of Mothers Day on May 8th, TOJ is partnering with Suzanne Nursing Boutique to bring you a unique Mother’s Day Contest!

Expectant bellies, our baby’s first cry, perfect toes, holding our little ones so close.  We all know that motherhood is a truly special experience, but each of us has a unique perspective.

We are looking for you to share with us that special image that answers the question,  “What does motherhood mean to you?”

The person that shares the most moving photograph and commentary as voted by our fans will receive:

- a special gift bag of Nursing goodies from SNB

- a free 1 hour special themed Mother’s Day style photo shoot on location of winner’s choosing from TOJ

- 20-30 edited images in an online gallery to share with all the people who helped you win

- High-Resolution CD of all images

Rules-

(Photos can NOT be professional photos that have been taken because of copyright laws. Photos taken by yourself, friends, or family are fine.)

-Our favorite submissions will be posted on both Tears of Joy Photography &  Suzanne Nursing Boutique FaceBook pages from May 1st until 11:59pm on May 7th

-Have your family, friends, coworkers, etc  ”like” your picture. Since the photo will be posted on both pages, people can vote twice.*

-The picture with the most combined “likes” will win! Don’t be shy, ask everyone you know to vote! Also post the contest on your wall so people can find your picture and “like” it.

If you are like me then you consider your pet as a member of your family.  Animals are a big part of my life so I offered my services to help out a non-profit organization called C.L.A.W.S (Closter Animal Welfare Society).  They are not a shelter but a network of dedicated volunteers that rescue and foster abandoned or unwanted cats and dogs until they find the best permanent homes for these animals. Their existence depends solely on money raised from fundraisers and adoption donations.

I visited C.L.A.W.S headquarters during one of their adoption Saturdays with my step-daughter to take some pictures of these pets who desperately need a loving home.  We know a picture says a thousand words–hopefully these images will get them all adopted. If you’re looking for a new friend come and meet our purrfect pals….

Big Baby (all orange big male) 11 years old……super sweet but would love to be an only cat.

Jerry (tiger striped grey, black & white) 1 year old neutered male….super friendly, outgoing, not so good with other cats though.

Mayfair (Orange & White) we are guessing 5 years old, neutered male, very easygoing and sweet.

Oreo (black and white) 4 year old spayed female.

Beautiful (all orange female) 2 years old, spayed,very sweet, polydatcl (six toes).

Tinkerbell (long haired) 2 year old spayed female.

C.L.A.W.S headquarters are located in Bergenfield.  They hold adoption days on Saturdays from 1-4pm.

TOJ is looking forward to doing other events to help raise money for these furry friends. So stay tuned!

Oooh how I love Maternity Sessions! The anticipation is so contagious and I just adore a pregnant belly.

Mom-to-be is an old friend from my city days, in fact I was there the night she met dad-to-be. I was so excited when she contacted me to do a Maternity shoot for her.  So great when an old friend becomes a client. This family is preparing for their newest member to arrive this spring. Big Brother-to-be was all energy, happy to lend a hand to his mom when she needed. What a loving family! Can’t wait to meet  the newest addition!
